Posing as customers, Jackson police officers say they witnessed numerous violations throughout the night Saturday.

One for operating without an adult entertainment license, and the manager for allowing this to happen," said Vice Sgt. William Gladney. The club was operating with a license issued to Gilbert Paige. Paige was also the manager of Centerfolds.
Two weeks ago Mayor Frank Melton closed that club after he says he witnessed dancers performing lewd acts. I want them to close down and get out of Jackson," said Mayor Frank Melton. The Mayor says Paige and his business associate, Charles Hobby, have gotten away with running clubs that break the rules for too long.
I know adults have the right to do what they want to do but they are just going to have to do it somewhere else," said Mayor Melton. The mayor defends the police department's tactics, which include sting operations.
He says other nightclubs in town follow the rules. Gilbert Paige was operating Girls of Paradise under a temporary license that the mayor says was recently transferred into his name.
